Heyo everyone! I am so so SO happy to announce that I have been accepted into Baylor College of Medicine! Above all, I am just grateful that I am able to continue pursuing my education in spite of some obstacles I've faced. Growing up was challenging sometimes because I my family didn't have a computer or Internet until I was 13 or so and I always had to rely on going to the library to do my homework, which was difficult since both my parents were (still are) always working, etc. Nevertheless, I know I was lucky because if anything, I always had teachers who encouraged me and believed in me, family who supported me in the best way they could, and friends who accepted me and taught me more than they know.
What I'm most excited for going to medical school is to learn more science of the human body, but more significantly, being able to use what I learn to help those who need it. I think it's lame that that saying is considered so cliché that you should never say that in an interview—because that's exactly why want to be a doctor: to help others, and to heal.
